No live event this year as the London Wine Fair goes virtual Admitting that she had been confident at the end of last year that the 2021 show would take place as a live event at its usual mid-May timing, today, Hannah Tovey said that there was “too much uncertainty” for this to be possible. “In December we were very confident that a live event would be possible; everything was looking extremely positive at that stage and the Association of Event Organisers (AEO) was advising that live events could safely take place from early 2021,” began Tovey.

All Party Parliamentary Group evidence session held

Chaired by the Rt Hon Theresa Villiers MP, Chair of the APPG, and attended by a number of MP’s, including several APPG Vice Chairs and Officers, the session heard evidence from a mixture of representatives from across the events sector, including; Simon Hughes - Business Visits & Events Partnership, Jane Longhurst - Meetings Industry Association, Chris Skeith - Association of Event Organisers, Susan Tanner – National Outdoor Events Association,  Steve Heap – Events Industry Forum and Rick Stainton – One Industry One Voice.

William Reed announces new dates for its UK Food & Drink Shows By Anthony Myers The UK Food & Drink Shows comprising Food & Drink Expo, Farm Shop & Deli Show, The Ingredients Show, Foodex, National Convenience Show and The Forecourt Show have been postponed until 5-7 July 2021, said organisers William Reed. Following the recent announcement in the UK of the third national lockdown and the rollout of the vaccine, ConfectioneryNews.com publisher, William Reed, said it has worked closely with the Association of Event Organisers (AEO) in developing the industry-wide AllSecure Standards, designed to provide the highest levels of hygiene and safety, allowing its shows to operate effectively and safely according to government and local authority guidance.

UK Food & Drink Shows postponed to July 2021

The UK Food & Drink Shows, which are held at the Birmingham NEC, have been postponed. Due to take place on 12-16 April 2021, they have been moved to 5-7 July 2021. The exhibition is made up of six shows – Food & Drink Expo, Farm Shop & Deli Show, The Ingredients Show, Foodex, National Convenience Show and The Forecourt Show. Organised by British Baker publisher William Reed, they bring together the worlds of food development, grocery, manufacturing, specialist retail, wholesale and foodservice. Featuring more than 1,000 brands, the shows have been dubbed the “most important event of its type in 2021”. “The Covid-19 pandemic has tested our business as it has the businesses of our exhibitors and visitors and we’re delighted we have managed to secure new dates in July at the NEC,” said Andrew Reed, Managing Director, Events & Exhibitions for William Reed.
