As the panchayat election in Uttar Pradesh reaches the end of its second phase of nomination, the contest in the state is becoming interesting with the arrival of relatives of many veterans in the electoral arena. This time there is a possibility that the maximum number of candidates for the three-tier election will be from the youth category. The panchayat elections are seen by politicians as an opportunity for their sons, daughters and wives to enter politics.

GREATER NOIDA: Around 400 villagers on Thursday staged a protest outside Bisrakh police station against its SHO and other officers for allegedly misbehaving with a lawyer and their former village pradhan.
The protestors demanded that an FIR be lodged against the Bisrakh SHO Munish Chauhan till Sunday or they “will protest again”.
They alleged that Chauhan had pointed a pistol at their former pradhan.
They said Bisrakh policemen have been “deliberately intervening in all construction-related affairs with vested interests.”
However, the police said these were “false allegations” and lodged an FIR against around 150 villagers, including 14 named persons.
Bike Bot scam: Noida court rejects bail plea of mall owner
Bhasin had moved the District and Sessions Court for bail in eight cases in connection with the fraud by the Noida-registered firm GIPL.

NOIDA: A Gautam Buddh Nagar court on Wednesday rejected a bail application of Satendra Singh Bhasin alias Montu, owner of Grand Venice shopping mall and an accused in the Rs 3,500-crore Bike Bot scam.
Bhasin, a resident of Delhi, had moved the District and Sessions Court for bail in eight cases in connection with the fraud by the Noida-registered firm Garvit Innovative Promoters Limited (GIPL).

The raids were carried out at six locations in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and Hapur by officials from Enforcement Directorate s (ED) Lucknow zone.
