ONYEKA ONWENU: ‘Elegant stallion’, Onyeka Onwenu has revealed why she turned down the chance to be one of the many wives of late Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti. The veteran singer who made the disclosure in her new autobiography, titled ‘My Father’s Daughter’, said that Fela approached her for marriage in the eighties but she rejected his proposal during one of her visits to his club because of his other wives. While narrating how Fela proposed marriage to her, Onyeka who revealed that she is a possessive lover added that she did not understand Fela’s love for women at the time.

#EndSARS: Court stops suit against Sam Adeyemi, Davido, others

Punch Newspapers Sections Eniola Akinkuotu, Abuja A High Court in the Federal Capital Territory has ordered a Magistrate, Omolola Akindele, to immediately halt proceedings and stay action in a criminal complaint filed by one Kenechukwu Okeke, against 50 persons who supported the #EndSARS protests. Justice Bello Kawu also restrained the Nigeria Police Force from arresting or taking any action against the #EndSARS activists. The magistrate had ordered the Commissioner of Police in the FCT to launch an investigation into the 50 notable persons who promoted the #EndSARS movement. Some of the notable persons include the Senior Pastor, Daystar Christian Centre, Sam Adeyemi; Musician Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy, David Adeleke otherwise known as Davido, Folarin Falana popularly known as Falz; and activist Deji Adeyanju.

Court sentences banker to four years in prison for stealing customers fund

Justice Jane Inyang of the Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, has convicted and sentenced one Felix David Diete to four years imprisonment, for stealing customers’ funds. Mr Diete, an employee of FCMB was jailed on Monday, January 11, 2021, after four years of diligent prosecution by the Port Harcourt zonal office of The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Three customers of the bank had on September 2, 2016, complained that they gave Mr. Diete the sum of N6m to deposit in their accounts but the convict deposited the sum of N4m and converted the balance N2,000,000. 00( Two Million Naira only) to his personal use.
