A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, on Friday sentenced a Ghana citizen, Elisha Sokpor, to three years imprisonment, for exporting 10 kilograms of Tramadol tablet and injection to his country, Ghana.
Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke, convicted and sentenced the Ghanaian after he pleaded guilty to the two-count charge of unlawful dealing in the said banned drugs, preferred against him by the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The convict, a resident of Agbozume Volta Region of Ghana, according to NDLEA prosecutor, Mr Ichakpa Oigoga, who stood in for Mr. Abubakar Aliyu, was arrested on October 15, 2020, at Nigerian Airforce Military checking point, located at Ahanve-Owode Area of Badagry Local Government of Lagos State, while attempting to smuggle the drugs enrouté Benin Republic to his country.

Dr. Victor Nnam
A Federal High Court in Enugu has fixed February 24, 2021 for the arraignment of the Enugu State Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, Dr. Victor Nnam, on an eight count charge bothering on forgery of land documents.
This followed the absence of Dr. Nnam during Tuesday December 9 scheduled arraignment proceeding.
Dr. Nnam was dragged to the Federal High Court by the office of the Attorney General of the Federation following petition by an estate developing firm, known as Private Estates International West Africa Limited (PEIWA).
The firm is the developer of the Enugu Lifestyle and Golf City, popularly known as Centenary City.
The Lagos Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has secured the conviction and sentencing of five illegal oil thieves to one year imprisonment each before Justice Rilwan Aikawa of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos
The convicts, who are all Indian nationals, are: Visal Guleria, Pranjal Singh, Rahul Pathania , Akash Kumar and Sahil Sharma.
They were arrested by officers of the Nigerian Navy Ship NNS Beecroft , Alaka, Lagos on January 31, 2020 aboard the vessel, MV Bount carrying 45.9 MT of Automotive Gas Oil, AGO, with no relevant documentation and subsequently handed over to the Commission for further investigation and prosecution.
