Even as the 40-year-old single mother continued to file weekly claims, she said in a lawsuit, the money never came. She tried to reach out to the state agency that handles claims like hers but never heard back. All she got was a letter in September, telling her there was an ongoing issue that would not prevent her from “claiming and receiving” her benefits.
