16 out of 25 high courts resume physical hearing 16 out of 25 high courts resume physical hearing NEW DELHI: A total of 16 out of 25 high courts in the country have resumed physical hearings which had stopped following the coronavirus-induced lockdown, Rajya Sabha was informed on Thursday. Nine high courts have not yet resumed physical hearings and are hearing matters virtually, the House was informed. The Government was asked whether many of the high courts are still functioning only through virtual hearing. In his written reply, Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “Nine high courts are still functioning through virtual hearing only.” These high courts are Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Manipur, Orissa, Punjab and Haryana and Sikkim.

Image Source: IANS News New Delhi, Feb 4 : While hearing a petition seeking inclusion of judges and advocates in the first phase of the Covid vaccination drive in the country, the Delhi High Court on Thursday said that it sees no reason to change the priorities set by the Central government. The government aims to vaccinate nearly 30 crore people in the first phase, which includes three crore healthcare and frontline workers and 27 crore elderly people, mostly above the age of 50 years with comorbidities such as diabetes, heart or liver ailments.
