What is Attorney at Work and what kind of information do you share?
Attorney at Work is a website and online publication that focuses on helping lawyers build a practice and a life they love. It contains tech tips, marketing and business development advice, the basics of running a law firm, and health and wellness. We were founded by my partner and husband Mark Feldman, Merrilyn Astin Tarlton, and me. We started it about 10 years ago coming out of the big recession because we saw a need for more information that would help small law firms, recent graduates, and solo practitioners build better businesses and learn better business practices, especially how to generate new clients and business. That said, we cover all aspects of practice management from billing to tech. And we have, over the past 10 years, grown close to 200 contributors, including some regular columnists and a few staff writers. Last week, the Department of Justice ( DOJ ) announced the criminal indictment of Surgical
Care Affiliates LLC ( SCA ), an Alabama- and
Illinois-based company, which owned and operated outpatient medical
centers around the U.S., for its alleged agreements with
competitors not to solicit senior-level employees. DOJ has been
suggesting since 2006 that it would use the criminal provisions of
the antitrust laws against into employee allocation
agreements-commonly called no-poach agreements, and DOJ has now
followed through on its warnings.

The Chief Justice, Kwasi Anin Yeboah, has cautioned lawyers against the use of intemperate, offensive and abusive language in their dealings.
“The use of intemperate, offensive language in professional dealings must be fiercely resisted by all lawyers no matter the height of temptation,” he said.
The Chief Justice also asked lawyers to refrain from the use of offensive language and bad behaviours before the Courts.
