SCHOOLS have been making their final preparations for the full return of pupils on Monday after spending more than two months closed. Apart from for vulnerable children and the children of key workers, the doors of all schools across the Bradford district have been shut since January 4. Schools opened for just one day in 2021 before the nation was plunged into a third national lockdown and all schools had to close their doors as Covid-19 was spreading out of control. Relaxation of Covid rules around Christmas and the Government’s failed tiered system of restrictions, combined with the emergence of the new more transmissible Kent variant, cause infection rates to sky-rocket and left the Government no option but to close schools.

Nurses march for a pay rise â nothing in the budget for them
RESPONDING to Tory Chancellor Rishi Sunakâs budget speech last Wednesday, PCS general secretary Mark Serwotka commented: âRishi Sunak has today failed to vaccinate the economy from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
âHis refusal to lift the pay cap on civil servants and other public sector workers, who have kept the country going during the pandemic, is a disgrace and economically illiterate.
âTo aid any recovery you must raise living standards and protect the most vulnerable.
âWhilst the extension of the Universal Credit uplift is welcome, the social security system is not fit for purpose and must be fundamentally altered to take care of people who have been left behind.

Ms Hodgson said that following a recent visit from the council, she was told that the mould and damp was caused by her lifestyle because she had her clothes drying in the bathroom.
Ms Hodgson said: “I’m just being fobbed off all the time.
“As long as they are getting their rent, they aren’t bothered about the conditions I’m living in. They know I have got my daughter living with me here.

“She was three-years-old when the damp started. Since she was just three or four years old started developing tonsillitis, I have only just found out this can be caused by damp.

The government has published a Budget aimed at protecting the jobs and livelihoods of the British people through the COVID-19 pandemic. The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (
