Covid cases fall for 2nd straight day 1,292 infected, 22 die in a day Staff Correspondent Staff Correspondent The number of Covid-19 cases continued to decline for the second consecutive day yesterday. In the past 24 hours till 8:00am yesterday, a total of 1,292 people were tested positive for the viral infection in the country. On the previous day, a total of 1,497 new cases were detected, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). With the latest figure, the total number of Covid-19 confirmed cases rose to 794,985 in the country. In the same 24 hours, a total of 22 people have died with Covid-19, up from 17 deaths of the previous day.
