Bengaluru, April 4 : The month-long sleaze CD saga has taken an interesting turn after the parents of the woman at the centre of the controversy directly blamed Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D. K. Shivakumar s role in the entire episode.
After this development, it has turned into a political slugfest between Shivakumar and the main accused, former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, it appears.

Bengaluru, April 4 : In all, 30 candidates, including three each from the ruling BJP and the Opposition Congress and one from Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) are in the fray for one Lok Sabha and two legislative assembly by-elections in Karnataka on April 17, an official said on Sunday. After the last date of withdrawal of nominations on Saturday, 10 candidates are in the fray for the Belgaum Lok Sabha seat, 12 for Basavakalyan and eight for Maski (reserved) assembly seats in Bidar and Raichur districts of the state, a poll official told IANS here.

Congress leader Lakhan Jarkiholi, who is the youngest brother of former Karnataka Minister and Sleaze CD case accused Ramesh Jarkiholi, on Thursday demanded that state Congress chief D.K. Shivakumar must also resign on moral grounds as his name too is often being linked with the case.
Lakhan Jarkiholi is the youngest of five Jarkiholi brothers and was election manager of Ramesh Jarkiholi as long as the latter was in the Congress. After he defected to the BJP, it was Lakhan Jarkiholi who unsuccessfully took him on as Congress candidate in 2019 by-elections.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the election campaign of his brother and Congress state Working President Satish Jarkiholi who is contesting the Belgaum Lok Sabha seat bypoll, Lakhan Jarkiholi said that Shivakumar should also resign or the party high command must intervene and ask him to step down.
