New Delhi [India], June 3 (ANI): Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Narendra Singh Tomar virtually inaugurated the Indus Best Mega Food Park on Thursday along with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, and in presence of Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Rameswar Teli.

Chief Ministers of the Congress-ruled Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh have questioned the Union government’s decision to not include Finance Ministers from the Congress-ruled States in the Group of Ministers (GoM) formed to examine the issue of GST exemption to COVID-19 relief material.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma is the convenor of this eight-member committee. The other members are ministers from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Kerala, Odisha, Telangana and U.P.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot wrote on Twitter, “The Union Government has set up a GoM following the GST Council Meeting of May 28th, 2021. A deliberate attempt has been made to keep the principal Opposition party, the Congress, that has three members in the GST Council out of the GoM.”

New Delhi, June 1 : Taking exception to the composition of a group of ministers by the GST Council to decide on tax exemption for essential goods related to coronavirus, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday termed the non-inclusion of members of Congress-ruled states in the panel against the spirit of cooperative federalism . The Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council has constituted an eight-member panel of ministers, which does not include any member from Congress-ruled states, for exemption from tax on essential goods related to Corona, he said, demanding ministers from Congress-ruled states, who are part of the GST Council, be included in the GoM constituted to discuss the GST rates on COVID relief material.
Vedanta on Tuesday said it is rolling out two state-of-the-art COVID-19 field hospitals in Karnataka and Rajasthan this week. This is part of the company s commitment to beef up the medical infrastructure and strengthen the country s fight against the pandemic, it said. The Vedanta Cares Field Hospital in Chitradurga will be inaugurated by Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Thursday, while Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will launch the speciality COVID-19 hospital in Barmer on Friday. Each of the air-conditioned field hospitals will have 100 beds to provide timely medical care to COVID-19 patients. The hospitals will have 90 beds with oxygen support, while 10 beds are provided with ventilator support for critical patients.
