New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: The first consignment of 1.5 lakh COVID-19 vaccine dosages of Covishield was dispatched to Thimpu, Bhutan from Mumbai s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, in the wee hours of Wednesday.

As a gift from India, the first consignment of India-made COVID-19 vaccine `Covishield' is being dispatched to Thimphu, Bhutan from Mumbai airport in the wee hours on Wednesday morning. A consignment containing 1,50,000 doses of Covishield will reach Bhutan's capital today. Bhutan is the first country to receive India`s gift of the COVID vaccines, manufactured by the SII.

It has been revealed that the Government of India has 1 of its indigenous Covid-19 vaccine covishield. India has sent the first consignment of 5 lakh doses to Bhutan. The vaccine was sent from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Maharashtra to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan on Wednesday.

India on Wednesday dispatched the first consignment of 100,000 doses of Covishield vaccines from Mumbai s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport to Male in the Maldives. The flight will first arrive in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and then leave for Male. With this, Maldives (along with Bhutan) has become the first recipient of India s gift of the Covishield vaccines, manufactured by the Serum Institute of India (SII).
