Oregon is poised to begin administering the Pfizer vaccine to the youngest age group soon to be eligible, youth 12 to 15 years old. Lane County Public Health officials say some parents have already begun scheduling their kids for the shot.
Public Health officials expect final approval by this weekend to administer the Pfizer vaccine to youth ages 12-15. Lane County is already scheduling appointments for the newest eligible age group.

Now that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has approved emergency use, Lane County Public Health officials await recommendations from the Western States Coalition and the Oregon Health Authority.

Say hey for library workers
This year I am recognizing and appreciating the employees at the Eugene Pubic Library who worked hard to figure out a way to partially reopen the library and get books back in circulation.
I am recognizing and appreciating the OSHA employees who were met with armed resistance at a Springfield restaurant this past winter when they were just trying to do their jobs in response to several complaints about the restaurant. I am grateful to the Lane County Public Health employees who designed such efficient drive-thru vaccination clinics in our community.
