Burlington: Bomb Squad identifies, removes non-threatening device

Updated: 6:22 PM EST Feb 7, 2021 WXII12.com Web Staff The Burlington Police Department and Greensboro Bomb Squad responded to a suspicious device on a bridge and deemed it to not be a threat Sunday.Officers responded to the 4200 block of Nire Valley Drive in response to a device found on a bridge. The caller reported seeing a small, black box with wires coming out of it and a blinking red light.Click the video player above for more information about the incident.The Greensboro Bomb Squad responded and determined the item was a rechargeable battery pack that was not a threat. It was removed from the area and properly disposed of.People are asked to always be aware of their surroundings and if they see something, say something.

Police responded to a 911 call about the suspicious device just after 7:00 P.M. Saturday, January 16. State Police responded with their robot to safely remove and destroy the device. Video at the location revealed that a customer may have been responsible for placement of the device.

(WAFB) - Officials with the Baton Rouge Police Department say they have arrested a man for making a bomb after discovering suspicious devices following an incident on Plank Road Thursday, Dec. 24. Police say they initially responded to the 2000 block of Plank Road to a report of a self-inflicted gunshot injury. Sgt. Don Coppola, a department spokesperson, says officers found suspicious devices while investigating the scene.
