City Of Williams Lake Postpones Event Hosting Grant Intake for May

City Of Williams Lake Postpones Event Hosting Grant Intake for May SHARE ON: (Supplied by Rick Mangell) Events and Marketing Coordinator, Guillermo Angel said this decision was based on the Provincial Health Officer’s continuing directive to restrict public events during the COVID-19 pandemic. Angel said unlike last year when they had to cancel it outright because of the pandemic situation, they’re hopeful they can re-open it this time around. “This year we are making the decision to postpone it until at least the late summer because we truly believe that there may be an opportunity for local organizations to host events in Williams Lake towards the end of the year.”

Wildlife park in Lincolnshire offers age friendly peace and tranquility

Updated Steve Nichols, CEO of Lincolnshire Wildlife Park, receives a TED age friendly certificate. Lincolnshire Wildlife Park is working alongside TED Ageing Better in Lincolnshire to offer a discounted experience for older visitors. The park - which features 25 acres of natural landscape - strives to meet the individual needs of those who are perhaps deemed more vulnerable; especially during the most recent and anxiety-inducing pandemic we have faced. As a part of the T.E.D (talk, eat, drink) initiative in Lincolnshire, funded to the YMCA from the National Lottery Community Fund, the park is being acknowledged for its accessibility for Ageing Better in Lincolnshire.

A CKUA Day in the Life: Karen Howell, Community Engagement Manager

A CKUA Day in the Life: Karen Howell, Community Engagement Manager Share This When we listen to the radio, it’s easy to imagine the host chatting into the microphone and doing … something … on a computer to keep it all moving. However, it takes a whole crowd (working from home, of course; crowds are dangerous!) of knowledgeable, creative people (and some pretty fancy technology) to create each second you hear. During the month of May we want to reveal all the human effort that goes into an hour of CKUA programming. Your donations throughout our Spring Fundraiser help support so many different things you may not even know about!

San Luis Obispo County libraries open for Grab & Go service

San Luis Obispo County public libraries reopen for Grab & Go services

Dave Alley/KEYT SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. - Beginning May 4, the County of San Luis Obispo Public Libraries will offer Grab & Go service at six locations. Grab & Go service allows visitors to enter the building for browsing, holds pickup, and to use the Library s computers. Per State and County health guidelines, face coverings will be required, and patrons will be asked to limit visits to 30 minutes. The library reduced its services and closed some branches in January as most of its staff were deployed as Disaster Service Workers to support the County Public Health Department s COVID-19 testing sites, call centers, and contact tracing teams.
