Canadian tech CEOs pledge to increase vaccine awareness
A group of Canadian tech CEOs are making a pledge to increase awareness around COVID-19 vaccination and encourage workers to get vaccinated.
The group, a collective of companies associated with the Council of Canadian Innovators (CCI), has pledged to provide reliable information from public health agencies to their employees and education to help those employees understand the importance of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
The idea behind the public pledge was sparked after CCI members had a discussion about the national vaccination effort and how tech companies might support it.
“We cannot make shipments of vaccine arrive any sooner, but we can take action within our own sphere of influence.”

TORONTO - Canadian businesses are grappling with how they ll handle the vaccination of staff and for some, that means allowing workers to get the shot on company time.
At least 35 tech companies in the country, including SkipTheDishes, Borrowell, and FreshBooks, signed a pledge Friday from the Council of Canadian Innovators vowing to let their staff slip out of work to get a jab and promising to provide them with accurate and reliable public health information around vaccination. Making this happen is more important than business as usual, the companies said in the pledge.

TORONTO A growing number of Canadian tech businesses are promising to allow their staff to get vaccinated against COVID-19 on company time.
At least 35 tech companies in the country, including SkipTheDishes, Borrowell, and FreshBooks, have signed a new pledge from the Council of Canadian Innovators vowing to let their staff slip out of work to get the shot.
They say they are keen on giving workers the time because vaccinations are more important than business as usual.
The signatories will try to tackle misinformation by providing reliable information from public health agencies about vaccine safety and efficacy to employees.
