DENBIGHSHIRE County Council is consulting on a draft Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) in attempts to get residents to properly control their dogs in public areas in the county. A PSPO allows the Council to take action against pet owners who allow a dog to foul in an area of public land without cleaning it up and those letting a dog off a lead anywhere it is not allowed. In 2017, the Council introduced a Control of Dogs PSPO to help tackle these issues. When producing a new PSPO, there is a legal duty to ensure members of the public, as well as partner organisations such as North Wales Police and Natural Resources Wales, have an opportunity to give feedback.
