This evening in Rome Pope Francis delivered the homily below as part of the four-hour Prayer Vigil for Peace held in St. Peter’s Square. It was estimated that 100,000 people joined the Holy Father for the vigil, which was the main event of the day of prayer and fasting for peace in Syria that he called for last Sunday, and which included recitation of the Rosary, readings from Scripture, and Eucharistic adoration. “And God saw that it was good” (Gen 1:12, 18, 21, 25). The biblical account of the beginning of the history of the world and of humanity speaks to us of a God who looks at creation, in a sense contemplating it, and declares: “It is good.” This allows us to enter into God’s heart and, precisely from within him, to receive his message. We can ask ourselves: what does this message mean? What does it say to me, to you, to all of us?
Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana (MMAAG) has petitioned the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and the Ministry of Communications over a newly introduced tax by the Government on cash-out Commission.
Speaking to Peace News, the Public Relations Officer of MMAAG Mr Charles Addo explained that the new tax which takes effect 1st June 2021 will see Government taking 4% of the 40% cash out Commission meant for Mobile Money Agents.
He expressed displeasure at the development and urged Government to engage Mobile Money Agents in discussions to arrive at a favourable decision for all.

• I WAS pleased to see your coverage of the latest phase of the public inquiry into undercover policing,
However the reference to me in the strapline on the story was inaccurate.
As you reported, I was one of the founders of London Greenpeace (which was later infiltrated by Spycops) in 1971/1972, and I was an editor of the pacifist paper
Peace News (which “gave birth to” London Greenpeace) in the 1970s and 1980s.
However your headline writer erred in conflating these two things and suggesting that I was a founder of
Peace News.
Far from it; the paper was launched in 1936, and hence is marking its 85th anniversary this year. I might be looking a bit long in the tooth these days, but…
