Metropolitan Opera: The Marriage of Figaro

This encore broadcast from 2018 features an outstanding ensemble cast. Bass Ildar Abdrazakov starred as the quick-witted valet Figaro opposite soprano Nadine Sierra as his equally resourceful bride, the maid Susanna. Soprano Mariusz Kwiecien as the philandering Count, and mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard was the perpetually love-sick pageboy Cherubino. Harry Bicket led the Met Orchestra and Chorus in this sparkling musical masterpiece. Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro will be heard over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 1:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, March 13. Listen to it on Classical IPR. Interlochen performance on Performance Today: March 15, 2021

• Aug 14, 2019 The Telegraph Quartet is a 2016 Walter W. Naumburg Chamber Music Award-winning string ensemble based in the San Francisco Bay area. The quartet will perform this week at Interlochen Center for the Arts.    The group visited IPR’s Studio A to perform works by Mendelssohn, Britten and Beethoven. Interlochen performance on Performance Today: March 12, 2021

On Friday, March 12, the nationally syndicated program Performance Today will feature music performed at recorded at Interlochen Center for the Arts. Listen to Classical IPR during the 10 a.m. hour of the show to hear the ensemble Russian Renaissance perform the traditional Ya na kamushe siju (I m sitting on the stone).   The recording was made during a recent performance the group gave in the Dendrinos Chapel and Recital Hall at Interlochen.
