Study reveals stress was leading reason teachers quit before pandemic ANI | Updated: Feb 22, 2021 16:15 IST
Washington [US], February 22 (ANI): Stress was the most common reason teachers cited for leaving the profession before and during the pandemic, according to a RAND Corporation survey.
The survey was conducted of nearly 1,000 former public-school teachers. Three of four former teachers said work was often or always stressful in the most recent year in which they taught in a public school.
In fact, teachers cited stress nearly twice as often as insufficient pay as a reason for quitting. Most former teachers went on to take jobs with less or equal pay, with 3 in 10 taking jobs with no health insurance or retirement benefits.

Early behavioural problems predict adolescent mental health difficulties: Study ANI | Updated: Feb 13, 2021 19:52 IST
Cambridge [England], February 13 (ANI): A new study indicated that a substantial proportion of adolescent mental health and behavioural difficulties can be predicted years before they arise.
The research, led by the University of Cambridge and Royal Holloway, University of London, showed that children who experience certain behavioural challenges, like hyperactivity and anxiety, are more likely to go on to develop poor mental health in adolescence, such as emotional difficulties.
It also found that children with behavioural difficulties are more likely to experience problems as adolescents if they come from less affluent, or disadvantaged backgrounds.
