ANN ARBOR, MI The VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System has vaccinated 10,000 individuals as of Wednesday, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Thursday.
The VA hospital in Ann Arbor began vaccinating frontline healthcare workers Dec. 16, and started vaccinated veterans under its care two weeks later.
“We’re proud to be one of the leaders in the region distributing vaccinations,” Ann Arbor VA director Dr. Ginny Creasman said. “Our goal is to continue expanding our operations until every veteran eligible for VA health care has the opportunity to receive a vaccine because we know that vaccines are the key to curbing this pandemic and moving us forward to our normal way of life.”
