Relief organization launches vaccine awareness campaign ‘It’s Time Los Angeles’ (Photo credit: Ariana Drummond) For Immediate Release Continuing their efforts to proactively address inequity in COVID-19 vaccine distribution and eliminate barriers to reaching the city’s most vulnerable populations, Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE) has formed a coalition of strategists and community leaders to launch a vaccination awareness and acceptance campaign aimed at reaching Los Angeles’s hardest-hit communities, including Latino, Black and Asian American and Pacific Islander populations. The initiative, “It’s Time Los Angeles,” is a multiplatform campaign built by LA-based multicultural marketing firm American Entertainment Marketing (AEM) that aims to increase the rate of vaccinations for the city’s most vulnerable and hard-to-reach communities.

St. James Baptist Church in Monroe County will hold a drive-thru vaccine event in partnership with Community Organized Relief Effort, or CORE. Organizers hope the event will show that it s easy to get vaccinated because you can get the shot close to home.

(WTOC) - Vaccine demand has gone down in Georgia. As a result, adjustments are being made across the state and locally to mass sites and clinics. State-run mass vaccination sites will close next month, and here in Chatham County the Coastal Health District will be consolidating resources, still taking care of those who want to get vaccinated. The Chatham County Health Department will continue offering vaccines on a walk-up basis at the Savannah Civic Center site, but they’re looking to soon collaborate with community organizations to reach more people in the community to get vaccine numbers up.

Free food, vaccination and mask drive Saturday COVID-19 The Bulloch County Branch of the NAACP, Squash the Spread, CORE and Agape Worship Center, with some help from the Health Department, have teamed up to provide a combined food drop, COVID-19 vaccination clinic and mask distribution event this Saturday, May 1. It will be held from 9 a.m. until noon at Agape Worship Center, 810 West Grady St., Statesboro. Participants should turn in from Johnson Street and follow the loop around the church, said Jill Johns, chair of Squash the Spread, a Statesboro-based organization started last year to distribute face masks and promote COVID-19 prevention efforts.
