Saturday was Community Clean-up Day in Twentynine Palms. Living in the windy environs of Morongo Basin, trash is a constant problem. To combat the issue, the city of Twentynine Palms partnered with Burrtec Waste and Recycling Services and Twentynine Palms Rotary to host a Community Cleanup Day last Saturday morning.

To help residents rid themselves of unwanted items, the city of Twentynine Palms is partnering with Burrtec Waste and Recycling Services and Twentynine Palms Rotary to host a Community Cleanup Day tomorrow – that’s Saturday, May 1, from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m.
There will be a free trash drop-off site for residents at the Luckie Park Activity Center parking lot, across from Luckie Park, at 74325 Joe Davis Drive. Assistance will be available for unloading larger items.

RAPID CITY, SD It’s enough to make even a singing purple dinosaur named Barney beam with pride.
Local residents and volunteer teams turned out in a big way last week for the annual Citywide Cleanup Week, picking up trash and items around Rapid City. More than 1500 volunteers, comprising 160 teams, fanned out across the community, mostly on Saturday during Community Cleanup Day. The annual event was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year marked the 50th year the city has observed a community-wide cleanup event.
And holding true to one of Barney’s signature songs, it seemed like ‘everybody, everywhere’ around Rapid City was doing their share to ‘clean up, clean up’. Volunteers picked up trash and discarded items, combing through fields, ravines, ditches, hillsides, trees and bushes; and along fence lines, bike paths, trails and creek shorelines.

KENTWOOD, Mich. â The City of Kentwood will be offering its annual Community Cleanup Day on May 1 for residents wanting to âspring cleanâ their homes and yards.
This yearâs Community Cleanup Day will accept yard waste, trash and general debris for disposal and electronics for recycling, according to a news release Monday.
Itâll be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kentwood Department of Public Works, located at 5068 Breton Ave. SE.
After the cleanup event, the cityâs brush and leaf drop-off sites â located at the same facility â will remain open through May 29.
