Anyone who has had a disrupted night of sleep knows what that can mean come daybreak. I don t know about you, but it makes me a little cranky and makes it hard to concentrate, Dean Hoover said.
Imagine the impact for a child who never gets a good night of rest because he or she doesn t have a bed, Jeff Stenerson said. They still have to get up and go to school, and they re still expected to perform like any other student, he said.
Stenerson is the founding director and Hoover the current director of the Bed Brigade, a group that makes and delivers 500 beds each year to families in need throughout central Ohio.

John M. Solis recently had the bittersweet formality of addressing the board of the San Joaquin County Employment and Economic Development Department. After more than 40 years, Solis officially announced his retirement on February 27, 2021 with the department and from a highly decorated and distinguished career in which he implemented many innovative programs to help young people find good-paying and rewarding careers. ATHENS, Ga. The late Judge Horace J. Johnson Jr. was named this year’s Innovations in Community Leadership Award recipient by the J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development at the University of Georgia (UGA).
Johnson was chosen for the award for his “commitment to developing leaders and strengthening his hometown of Newton County and communities across Georgia,” according to the publication UGA Today.
