Estimated 15,000 pounds of paper brought to Community Shred Day in Trussville

TRUSSVILLE The Trussville Chamber of Commerce reported a successful Community Shred Day on Friday, April 30, 2021. Nearly 250 vehicles came through the line at the Trussville Civic Center to give their sensitive documents to Gone for Good Document & E-Waste Solutions trucks. Garet Smitherman, with the Better Business Bureau, said the free event could prevent someone from becoming a victim of identity theft. “I think a lot of people would assume that most identity theft occurs from a data breach online or something like that, but in reality, the majority are traced back to a piece of paper, a tangible document that ends up in the wrong person’s hands.”
