After 52 years, Dr Hodge Humbly Says Goodbye

(Anthony De Leon/Clovis Roundup) Dozens of family and friends, many of them medical professionals alike, and all with a connection to Dr. David Hodge, converged into the Clovis Veterans Memorial District to bid him farewell in retirement on Friday, July 9. Dr. Hodge, a humble stalwart in the Fresno area, called it a career after providing upwards of 52 years of service in the medical field, specializing in pediatric surgery. Starting his medical career following his graduation from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1969, Dr. Hodge traveled across the country and world, providing care wherever he could.

Two teens hospitalized after Hanford shooting

Two teens were transported to separate hospitals Sunday after they were found shot in their vehicle in Hanford, according to the Hanford Police Department.  According to police, officers were dispatched at about 10:15 p.m. Sunday to calls of a stranded vehicle in the middle of the road going southbound on 11th Avenue and Davis Street. Lt. James Lutz, public information officer, said officers were informed that the people inside the car had been shot and went to assist. The officers found the driver, 18, and his passenger, 17, suffering from gun shot wounds. The driver had been shot three times in the torso and upper body, and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno. As of press time, he was in critical condition. The passenger was transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia and is in stable condition. 

Thirty Patients Died At Coalinga State Hospital In 2020 Some Question The Facility s Medical Care

Listen to the report here. Earlier this year, Jeff Gambord realized he couldn’t remember the last time he had a physical exam. So he requested his medical record from Coalinga State Hospital, the psychiatric facility where he’s been a patient since 2006. Gambord learned it’d been more than a year, and he was curious if this was common so he encouraged others to request their records, too. “When we went back and looked up a couple other patients on this unit, some go back as far as two or three years as not having received exams,” he said.
