PG&E reduces number of SLO County homes impacted by potential power shutoff
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. PG&E reduced the number of San Luis Obispo County customers affected by the potential power shutoffs starting Tuesday.
The utility company reduced the number to approximately 154 customers in the area.
The areas that will be impacted includes the Huasna area of San Luis Obispo County, it is located east of the Nipomo area and along Highway 166.
The utility company says they will open two Community Resource Centers to provide information, device charging, WiFi support, restrooms, bottled water and snacks along with other amenities.

UPDATE (6:30 a.m.) - Residents in the Paso Robles and Atascadero are experiencing power outages.
According to PG&E, power should be restored at approximately 7:15 a.m. on January 19.
Community Resource Centers are available in Grover Beach and Santa Maria, they open at 8:00 a.m.
Public Safety Power Shutoffs are still expected in eastern portions of Arroyo Grande and Nipomo, as well as parts of Tepesquet Canyon, east of Santa Maria, and the Twitchell Dam area.

ORIGINAL STORY: Power Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) outages were impacting hundreds of PG&E customers in San Luis Obispo and northern Santa Barbara counties Tuesday morning.
As of 9:23 a.m., PG&E said 441 customers on the Central Coast were impacted by the five PSPS-related outages.
The company previously warned of possibly outages between Tuesday morning and Wednesday evening as strong, damaging winds are expected in the area.
In the Cambria area, another 50 customers were without power off Highway 46, but PG&E says this was not a planned outage and is possibly wind-related.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) has notified a targeted number of customers in small portions of Calaveras, Fresno, Kern, Madera, Mariposa, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Tulare and Tuolumne counties about a potential Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) Monday night. Dry conditions combined with high wind gusts pose an increased risk for damage to the electric system that could ignite fires in areas with dry vegetation.
PG&E Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is open and the company’s meteorologists are monitoring the situation. In addition to the potential for a PSPS event in parts of PG&E service area, strong and gusty winds may cause flying debris and vegetation which can impact power lines and cause additional outages.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The Community Resource Centers of Summerville and North Charleston say they will be hosting massive food distributions including fresh produce and canned goods.
The resource centers say they giveaways will begin Monday and extend through Saturday at various locations.
Organizers say the first distribution will be a Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Giveaway beginning at 2 p.m. Monday in Summerville. This distribution will take place at the Summerville Family YMCA, which organizers say is located at 208 W. Doty Ave in Summerville.
