$800,000 Expands Service To 400 Homes
State Rep. Todd Warner, R-Chapel Hill, today announced Marshall County will receive a broadband accessibility grant totaling $782,976 to expand service to approximately 400 homes and businesses in Marshall County.
The grant is part of a $14.9 million broadband package announced by Gov. Bill Lee and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe on March 5 that will expand service to support 17,800 unserved Tennesseans.
United Communications will receive the funds to expand internet service to parts of Marshall County. The company is one of 13 grant recipients that demonstrated a high need for grant funding as well as the ability to implement and sustain the projects long-term with strong community support.

TENNESSEE, USA Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe announced $14.9 million in broadband accessibility grants will support and expand service to 17,800 Tennesseans in 15 rural counties.
According to a release, this will impact 7,120 homes and businesses in Tennessee.
“Every Tennessean should have access to the same high-speed broadband, no matter what zip code they live in,” said Gov. Lee. “Our continued investment in internet connectivity will help level the playing field for rural communities across our state, and I thank these 13 providers for partnering with us to help nearly 18,000 more Tennesseans get connected.”
