June 2021 Primary Election To Include Language Translation Services for 11 Languages at Select Poll Sites

NEW YORK CITY CIVIC ENGAGEMENT COMMISSION

TO MAKE VOTING EASIER FOR LIMITED ENGLISH PROFICIENT NEW YORKERS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May, 27th, 2021  CONTACT: Daniel Abramson, 646-769-2021, NYCEC will provide poll site translation services in 11 languages at select poll sites during the upcoming June primary election. The Civic Engagement Commission (CEC) will be providing language assistance services at select poll sites during the upcoming election. Translation will be provided in the following languages:  Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, (Cantonese, Mandarin), French, Haitian Creole, Italian, Korean, Polish, Russian, Urdu, and Yiddish. This program will run on the last weekend of early voting (June 19th and June 20th) and on Election Day (Tuesday, June 22nd). Jewish community leaders from Agudath Israel of America met with New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio for 90 minutes Friday afternoon, May 21 st, in a hastily called meeting to discuss the spate of hate crimes erupting against Jews in highly-populated Jewish areas of New York City. Safety and security of identifiable Jews in the Satmar and Lubavitch communities were the focus of the meeting.

Burglar Wanted By SMPD - Canyon News

Canyon News SANTA MONICA The Santa Monica Police Department is searching for a man who is tied to seven burglaries of businesses in the city. They are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.  On May 20, the SMPD released a public bulletin with a description of the man who is believed to have stolen from seven different stores, offices, salons, and more. He’s described as a young African American male in his 20’s, with short dreadlocks, a thin build, and a mustache. He wore a colorful backpack with a picture of Bart Simpson on it. He was seen wearing a camouflage hoodie, a black long sleeve with the brand Puma printed on it, grey pants with black stripes, and a blue bandana.
