DAVAO CITY – The government led by the Task Force Bangon Marawi and its partners awarded on Thursday 170 permanent shelters in two resettlement sites in Maraw City to families of internally displaced persons (IDPs).
“We are now starting to feel and enjoy the initial fruition of the massive rehabilitation with the awarding of these permanent shelters. This is a concrete proof of the Duterte administration’s commitment to raise back Marawi better and stronger, ” said Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) head and TFBM Chairman Eduardo Del Rosario in a statement on Friday (July 23).
“As promised last month, we will be turning over or inaugurating completed projects starting this month with these housing units and another mosque,” he added.

VICTORIA The City of Victoria and BC Housing are looking to build 220 new affordable and supportive housing units on city-owned land in the 900-block of Pandora Avenue. In addition to the non-market rental housing, the proposal also includes a community centre, gym and childcare spaces on the vacant lots at 926-930 Pandora Avenue. “This proposed redevelopment will breathe new life into a long-vacant property that stretches nearly half a city block bordering on the Downtown and North Park neighbourhoods,” said Victoria Mayor Lisa Helps in a statement Wednesday. The proposal is a partnership between the city, BC Housing and the Capital Region Housing Corporation, which Helps chairs.
