For months, workers at several VCU projects and the new General Assembly building say they’ve been denied overtime pay and other benefits, despite meeting IRS criteria to receive them. The group held a car rally on VCU’s campus yesterday to bring attention to these allegations.

In 2019, voters handed Democrats unified control of Virginia government for the first time in 21 years, guaranteeing the party at least two years of unfettered lawmaking before the next election.
This yearâs House of Delegates elections and race for governor will be a debate largely over whether Democrats delivered what most Virginia voters wanted or changed too much too fast.
Fauquier remains a GOP stronghold. Republicans hold three of the four Virginia General Assembly positions that represent all or part of the county. For the most part, those Republican legislators have opposed the Democratsâ changes in state law.

Clean Economy Act, is an omnibus energy bill that contains a two-year moratorium on new fossil fuel plants, mandatory carbon reductions, mandatory energy efficiency savings, mandatory construction of wind, solar and offshore wind, mandatory energy storage acquisition targets, mandatory closures of some coal and biomass plants, and a mandatory renewable portfolio standard, along with cost recovery provisions, a new program to limit utility bills of low-income earners, and some loosening of restrictions on net metering and third-party power purchase agreements.”
