In April, public sector oil refiners-cum-retailers have been able to achieve an ethanol blending of 7.63 per cent at the national level. Auto Sales in April down 30% over the Past Month due to Second Wave of COVID: SIAM

 1 Automobile sales, including passenger vehicles (PVs), three wheelers (3W) and two-wheelers (2W), fell more than 30%, mainly due to lock-downs and diversion of resources by auto-makers towards oxygen production amidst the second wave of coronavirus (COVID), says Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).   In a statement, Rajesh Menon, director general of SIAM says, Supply Chain related production challenges continue with the lockdown restrictions in many parts of the country. The demand has been clearly impacted by second wave of COVID, both in terms of low consumer sentiments and closure of dealerships due to lockdown restrictions.”    According to SIAM data, sales of passenger vehicles fell by about 10.07%, compared to that in March 2021, due to various restrictions in states which have been experiencing surge in COVID cases.
