SPE’s Antec moves to May in wake of NPE cancellation

In the wake of the cancellation of the in-person NPE2021 trade show, the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) is moving its 2021 Antec event to May.
“The unfortunate cancellation of NPE gives SPE the opportunity to move its annual technical conference back to its traditional May timeframe,” SPE CEO Patrick Farrey said in a Jan. 20 news release. “SPE had previously agreed to move Antec to March to avoid the conflict of having two major industry events in the same month but May has always been the preferred timeframe for our members, attendees, exhibitors, and sponsors.”
The new members represent an array of disciplines and come from all across the globe.
The Plastics Academy announced 10 new members of the Plastics Hall of Fame on Dec. 18. Representing an array of disciplines and coming from all across the globe, the new members were scheduled to be formally inducted during an awards gala at NPE2021 in May, but the The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) founded the Hall of Fame to recognize the industry leaders who make up this impactful industry, and we are continuing the rich tradition by honoring those who shine in their careers and contribute to science and society,” said PLASTICS President and CEO Tony Radoszewski.

Ten industry veterans from the global plastics machinery, training, packaging, materials and trade association sectors will be the latest inductees into the Plastics Hall of Fame.
The 10 new members were announced on Dec. 18 by the Plastics Academy, and are scheduled to be inducted on May 16 at NPE2021 in Orlando, Fla.
“We are proud of the 2021 class of the Plastics Hall of Fame. The winners come from all across the globe and represent many different disciplines,” said Jay Gardiner, president of the Plastics Academy. “In this difficult year, we look to these inductees as a reaffirmation of the vitality and strength of the plastics industry.”
