Porsche dealers outsold Lockdown 3 new car market to deliver YTD sales growth

Click the thumbs up >Porsche GB’s growing franchised car retail network has contributed to year-to-date growth amid a market down 35.5% due to the ongoing COVID-19 ‘Lockdown 3’ showroom closures. The German sports and premium car brand has outsold Fiat (873) and Suzuki (971) and is within a handful of sales of mainstream brands including Dacia (1,227), Fiat (837), Honda (1,465) and Mazda (1,224) so far in 2021, delivering a 21.3% year-on-year sales growth with 1,112 registrations. Its result comes despite a tough February in which just 193 Porsche s were registered in the UK - down 30.6% year-on-year. Deliveries of its new-in-2020 Taycan, the Volkswagen Group brand’s first pure electric vehicle (EV), may have been responsible for the brand s early uplift after it ended 2020 as its second-best selling vehicle, behind the Macan SUV.

Wendy Williamson to retire as IAAF chief executive

Williamson is credited for successfully leading the IAAF through a number of changes, ensuring it remained at the forefront of the industry and as an umbrella for which companies could unite under. She has lobbied against extending the MOT frequency and new scrappage scheme proposals and ensured the automotive aftermarket’s voice is heard on all matters relating to its prosperity including type approval, block exemption and cyber security, both in the UK and throughout Europe.
