Auto shows were in retreat even before the pandemic hit, with automakers pulling out of global events in droves, leaving some show halls sparse and quiet. The culprits, to name a few, were the changing nature of publicity in the car business, a greater belief on the part of automakers on digital influencers and the decline in foot traffic in the events themselves as a way for shoppers to find out about new cars.

LONDON â Britain and the European Union passed another do-or-die moment in their trade negotiations Sunday with neither a breakthrough nor a breakdown. But as the talks stretched on, there were distinct glimmers of hope that the two sides might at last find a way to bridge the gulf between them.

Tesla does not officially report registration statistics, although all its cars are, naturally, part of the overall registration tally.
Instead, Tesla hides coyly (not a word generally associated with Elon Musk) behind the category “Other Imports”. Once Ferrari and Lamborghini (not identified
separately by the SMMT) are removed from the total, you are left with a category with a growth rate of 116.7% year-to-date (YTD), accounting for 1.16% of the UK
