With Covid-19 holding a firm over society, some people are taking advantage of the situation by spreading misinformation on the availability of oxygen cylinders and cheating people who are desperately in need of oxygen cylinders to save the lives of their loved ones infected with COVID. Police in Hyderabad has stated that such cases are on the rise.
A citizen volunteer, Shivani Yasaswi who connects people with beds, oxygen cylinders, medicines and plasma donors, told an English daily that there were several fake numbers of oxygen suppliers floating on the internet. She explained that there are also people who forward for the sake of money, making it double hard for those looking for authentic information.

Getting verified information on life-saving services such as oxygen supplies, critical care services and diagnostic support has become a big challenge as friends and kin of Covid-19 patients look for help.
To save time and to provide verified information, Cyberabad police and Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) have launched an online portal – covid.scsc.in, providing verified information about all the critical services required.
The SCSC is an organisation with members from various stakeholders of the IT and IT-enabled services.

Hyderabad, April 27 : Cyberabad police and the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) on Tuesday launched Covid tele-medicine consultation call centre facility for citizens of Hyderabad.
People who tested positive for Covid can call this centre for free advice and guidance on treatment, precautions, and vaccination.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar said since the medical and healthcare system in Hyderabad and Telangana is highly stressed, Cyberabad police and SCSC felt there is need to bridge the gap and decided to launch this through its healthcare vertical led by Dr Rajeev Menon.

Hyderabad, April 19 : With increasing number of calls for transportation of bodies of Covid victims to crematoriums, Feed the Needy team in Cyberabad on Monday resumed its free last ride service .
In view of increasing number of calls from families of the Covid victims during the ongoing second wave of the pandemic, Cyberabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar had sought resumption of the service.
The vehicle was flagged off by the Commissioner on Monday.
The last ride service will cater to carry bodies of Covid or non-Covid deceased belonging to any caste or creed. The services will be available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The team will also take care of cremation of any deceased body where any near or dear ones are not available to take care of last rites. Citizens can avail the service by calling on 7995404040 or 9490617440.
