As of Sunday, La Grange, including La Grange Highlands, had seen 2,201 coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic, up 36 from a week before, or a 1.7 percent increase. That was slightly up from the previous week s 1.5 percent hike. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner s Office, the local number of recorded coronavirus-related deaths stayed the same in the last week, at 31. The latest death was Feb 13. All the local deaths have been those who were 61 or older, according to the medical examiner.

As of Sunday, Western Springs had 1,200 coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic, up 10 from a week earlier, or a 0.8 percent hike. The week before, the village experienced a 1.2 percent increase. The number of Western Springs virus-related deaths remained the same at four, with the last one reported as being on Nov 21, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner s Office. That s a mortality rate of less than 1 percent. All the local deaths have been those who were 58 or older, according to the county medical examiner.
