GALLATIN, Tenn. (WTVF) â The Sumner County Sheriff s Office is searching for an inmate who escaped while on furlough to attend his sister s memorial service.
Casey Jamison was granted the brief furlough by the court to attend the service Friday but the sheriff s office says he ran from the family member he was with.
An additional warrant was issued for felony warrant for escape. He was serving a sentence (nine years in total) for a violation of community corrections with the original charges being theft over $10,000 and evading arrest. His prior charges include DUI, drug possession, weapons possession, resisting arrest, and others.

YODER Twenty-three new law enforcement officers graduated from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC) on May 21 at a ceremony held in KLETC’s Integrity Auditorium.
Nicholas Delaney, a deputy at the Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office, was the class president for the 278th Basic Training Class. The speaker for the ceremony was chief of police for the Pratt Police Department, Nathan Humble. James Buettgenbach, KLETC senior instructor of police, was the class coordinator for the 278th Basic Training Class.
Deputy Jacoby Williams of the Saline County Sheriff’s Office was recognized during the ceremony for his firearms proficiency as the class’ “Top Shot.” Deputy Jimmy Golden of the Gray County Sheriff’s Office and Deputy Daniel Everhart of the Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office walked, ran or biked more than 200 miles during their time at KLETC and exceeded the other physical requirements of the 200 Mile Club, including push-ups, sit-ups a

Springfield Man Found Dead Following Cottontown Shooting
COTTONTOWN TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Springfield man is dead and another man injured following a shooting and subsequent suicide in Cottontown Wednesday morning.
Around 9:05 am, Deputies responded to 132 Shun Pike in Cottontown for a report of a shooting. Deputies arrived to find that an adult male had been shot in the face while outside of that location. Deputies and Sumner County EMS rendered aid, and the victim was transported from the scene by LifeFlight.

According to the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, witnesses at the scene described and identified Dontarius Long, age 25 of Springfield, as having been the shooter. Mr. Long was reported to have fled the scene on foot along with a female juvenile. Witnesses stated that Long and the juvenile were last seen running toward Hwy. 76.
11-year-old thrown from car in Sumner crash, airlifted to Nashville. Two others injured
An 11-year-old boy was air lifted to a Nashville hospital Thursday morning after a serious car crash in Westmoreland on Pleasant Gove Road, Sumner officials said.
The Sumner County Sheriff s Office responded to a report of a single motor vehicle crash with injuries at 7:22 a.m. [They were] driving to fast for the curve, Sumner County Sheriff Sonny Weatherford said.
When investigators arrived at the scene, they noted that the 11-year-old boy was thrown from the car s rear passenger window during the crash. His 13-year-old sister was in the front passenger seat of the vehicle and was also injured in the crash.
