COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker released the identity of a man who died after a vehicle versus pedestrian accident on Saturday evening. The coroner says 57-year-old Dorian McCaskill, of Sumter, was on McCrays Mill Road and Cook Street in Sumter around 8:30 p.m. when he was involved in the fatal accident.
Officials say an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday at the Medical University of South Carolina. The incident remains under investigation by the Sumter County Coroner’s Office and the City of Sumter Police Department.

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker has released the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle accident on February 11. Authorities say 53-year-old Tommy Graham, of Lynchburg, was the passenger in a minivan that was struck by another vehicle at the intersection of Narrow Paved Road and Pudding Swamp Road around 4:15 p.m.
Officials say Graham was taken to Prisma Health Tuomey, where he was pronounced dead the same day.
Officials say an autopsy was performed on Tuesday at the Medical University of South Carolina.
The incident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Sumter County Coroner’s Office.

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– According to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, a man who had been reported missing was found deceased in a pond after an apparent accidental drowning. Deputies say the body of 36-year-old Michael McKelvey was discovered in a pond in the Cherryvale area on January 31.
According to Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker, there are no signs of foul play. A toxicology report is still pending.

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker has identified the victim from a fatal accident that occurred on Monday night around 8:45 p.m. The coroner says 43-year-old Jermaine Williams was pronounced dead on Tuesday at Prisma Health Tuomey, as a result of a vehicle versus bicycle accident that happened on Jackson Street at Miller Road.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday morning at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
The accident remains under investigation by the Sumter Police Department and the Sumter County Coroner’s Office.

James Paul Freund was 30 and Pamela Mae Buckley was 25 when a trucker found their bodies in August 1976 on a narrow paved road just off Interstate 95 near Lynchburg, Sumter County Sheriff Anthony Dennis said. Both hadn t been seen for about eight months before they died, and investigators are still trying to figure out their relationship, Dennis said. Freund and Buckley were both shot several times with the same gun and the fatal wound was to the back of their heads, Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker said.
