DALZELL, S.C. (WIS) - A South Carolina woman has been arrested and charged with homicide by child abuse after police say her premature baby died because of her drug use.
The woman, 23-year-old Tricia Yazici, of Dalzell, was taken into custody Jan. 10 on a warrant from December.
Her newborn, who was born at 25 weeks, tested positive for methamphetamine in October 2020, officials with the Sumter County Sheriffâs Office said.

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Michael McKelvy.
Authorities said McKelvy, 36, was last seen on Cherryvale Drive on January 2.
He was wearing a black shirt, black pants, a black coat with red trim, red sneakers, and a black skull cap.
McKelvy is 5-foot-7 and weighs 125 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
Officials noted McKelvy is from Moncks Corner and does not have a vehicle.

MAYESVILLE, S.C. (WIS) - Sumter deputies have arrested a 49-year-old man for ill treatment of animals.
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office took Robert Boyle into custody on Dec. 31.
Deputies received a tip that dogs at a home on Sumter Street in Mayesville were being mistreated.
