NORTH PORT – The new Hampton Inn & Suites North Port opened for registered guests at 3 p.m. on Thursday, giving the city its first new hotel since 1973.
“It turned out beyond our expectations; it looks fabulous,” said Mike Postle, vice president of construction and project management for Lodgco, the Mount Pleasant, Michigan-based hospitality company that brought the new 100-Room Hampton Inn to 5664 Tuscola Boulevard. “It’s an extremely sharp hotel, and I think North Port is going to be very proud to have it in their community,” he added. “It took a little bit longer with COVID than we wanted it to take, but now that it’s here, I think it was well worth the wait.”
