Stewart s offers 50-cent cones for Valentine s Day

SARATOGA SPRINGS Stewart s Shops said Wednesday that it will offer single-scoop ice cream cones for 50 cents each to all customers during Valentine s Day, Feb. 14.
While all flavors of the ice cream, made locally by Stewart s with milk from area dairy cows, will be available, the Saratoga Springs-based convenience store chain touted its limited edition Cherry Loves Chocolate; a cherry-flavored ice cream with dark chocolate flakes and red cherries.

the Enterprise staff LAKE PLACID The Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism, in collaboration with Warren County Economic Development, is seeking input from people who live outside of this area to determine whether there’s an opportunity to entice more people to live in the Adirondacks year-round. The goal of the new survey is “to study if remote working has the potential to increase the possibility of singles and families to move,” a news release from ROOST says. It will be conducted by Camoin 310, a Saratoga Springs-based consulting firm that conducts many Adirondack studies, including the town of North Elba’s housing needs assessment and short-term vacation rental impact study in late 2019 and early 2020.
Stewart s Shops Reveals More Details on Express Locations
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. Stewart s Shops is unveiling plans for the first five smaller-concept Stewart s Express convenience stores for the upstate New York market.
Stewart s Express which will be a test to see how these shops perform with a decreased product offering and the omission of hand-scooped ice cream, milkshakes, salads, sandwiches, soup or meatballs comes off the heels of Stewart s Shops acquisition of fellow Saratoga Springs-based retailer Red-Kap in November.

Under the auspices of the city of Albany and the town of Colonie, the old First Prize Center on West Albany’s Exchange Street is coming closer to development as a mixed-use facility with residential and commercial activity.
Over the last four decades there have, from time to time, been interests in the land. In 2014 the Tobin site was scouted by a developer as a prime place for a gambling casino, which eventually ended up in Schenectady.
Former Albany Common Councilor Ron Bailey said he believed the site s past as an economic driver for his Third Ward neighborhood could be resurrected.
