Develop cyber Aashvast unit in Surat, NCW member says | Surat News

Desai, who is set to send a missive in this regard to the state government, will also emphasize on the need to strengthen the Sakhi One Stop Centre (OSC) which is not utilised at its maximum capacity. In the city on Monday, Desai held meetings with district administration, police and officials of leading educational institutes including Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU), Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) and Uka Tarsadia University on Monday. She has come to the city was part of her visit to districts of south Gujarat and will visit Navsari, Tapi, Valsad and Dang during the week.

1,180 SVNIT students get degrees at 18th convocation | Surat News

Union minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ addressed the event Surat: Altogether 1,180 students were awarded degrees at the 18th annual convocation of Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) on Friday in an event organized online. The convocation was addressed by union education minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’. Of the awardees, 26 won gold medals while 720 from Bachelor of Technology, 262 Master of Technology, 87 PhD and 111 Master of Science received their degree certificates. In his address Pokhriyal appreciated the initiatives taken up by the institute for start-ups and appealed to students to become job givers than be job seekers. He stressed the need for research and development and the significance of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ dream by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Such is the journey of Maulik Thummar, a B.Tech mechanical engineering student who topped the overall exam and received five gold medals from the Education Minister in the 18th virtual convocation held by Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology on December 18. Maulik, a son of class 8 pass-out diamond factory worker whose monthly income ranges between Rs 10k to 15k got the top rank in several graduate programs offered by the Institute. He secured 13000 rank in JEE Main Exam 2016. He then took admission in SVNIT. Now, he would be starting his first job on an annual package of Rs 6.5 lakh.
