LG minister applauds public private partnership in uplift of merged districts

KALAYA: Provincial Minister for Local Government, Rural Development, Elections and Parliamentary Affairs Akbar Ayub Khan on Wednesday applauded the role of public-private partnership in the development of merged districts.
He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of a causeway bridge at Kasha in Upper Orakzai, which was constructed by Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) under the auspices of its European Union (EU)-funded and KFW-financed “Aid to Uprooted People in Pakistan” project.
The mega project of Kasha Causeway was launched on December 30, 2019 at a cost of Rs44.5 million with an objective to ease the inhabitant’s access to the market, educational institutes and health facilities.

KP govt focusing on power generation from renewable resources

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Labour and Culture Shaukat Yousafzai on Monday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had focused on power generation from renewable resources.
Speaking at a briefing about the Mini Micro Hydro Projects at the Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) office, he believed that previous government had damaged the country’s economy by launching expensive power projects. The minister said the government had finalized plans for the production of 1400 megawatts of electricity. He said that the past government had not initiated any mega hydropower project but the PTI government had launched work on Mohmand and Basha dams. He said previous governments had started expensive projects of power generation that had led to the electricity crisis in the country.
‘Pak-Italy Friendship bridge’ inaugurated in Khairabad, Chitral News Desk
A suspension bridge was inaugurated in Khairabad District, Chitral to solve the problem of rural isolation that has been affecting the community especially during the time of heavy rainfall. Due to adverse conditions and limited mobility, residents were deprived of crucial socio-economic opportunities. The bridge has been constructed in partnership with Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) under the Programme for Poverty Reduction (PPR) by Italian Agency for Development Corporation ((AICS) Pakistan.
Khairabad is comprised of 5 sub-villages (Khaiabad Khas, Thok Jal, Dhap, Junali, Camp) while there are 3 more connected villages of Kol, Wardhap and Wardhap Payeen. More than 450 households of Khairabad, Kol, Camp, Wardhap Payeen will directly benefit fromthis development. .
