Airport operator says it is contacting former employees displaced during the pandemic to rejoin the firm
Dubai airports operator Dnata, a subsidiary of Emirates Group, has a number of vacancies across its operations in Dubai and it is contacting former employees who were displaced during the Covid-19 pandemic to rejoin the company.
“Whilst the situation remains difficult to predict, we now have a number of vacancies across our airport operations in Dubai,” a Dnata spokesperson said in a statement to Khaleej Times. “We aim to fill these vacancies with those highly-trained, former Dnata employees, who meet our performance criteria but were displaced due to the significant impact of the pandemic on our business. These colleagues have been contacted and invited to return.”

Moody’s Investors Service forecast a negative outlook for global airlines in 2021, with operators expected to lose money until 2022 due to the impact of Covid-19 on air travel demand.
The credit rating agency does not expect passenger demand to make a significant return until the coronavirus vaccine is widely available and travellers are more confident about boarding a plane.
“We have a negative outlook on the airlines [and] we expect operating losses to run through 2021 into 2022,” Moody s airline analyst Jonathan Root said during a podcast.
The aviation industry is among the sectors that have been hit hardest by the pandemic, with the International Air Transport Association forecasting combined losses of $157 billion this year and in 2021.

Iata Travel Pass will be launched in the first quarter of 2021.
The International Air Transport Association (Iata) has unveiled critical design elements of its hi-tech Travel Pass that would speed up reopening of borders while ensuring top-level data security and data privacy.
Explaining the key features of the mobile app, the Iata chief said: “The Travel Pass is a solution that both travellers and governments can trust. And it is being built with data security, convenience and verification as top priorities.”
The mobile app, which is soon to be made available to ensure swift reopening of borders and re-reconnect people, will help travelers easily and securely manage their travel in line with any government requirements for Covid-19 testing or vaccine information, the global body of airlines said.
