The global trade association for 290 airlines has now developed an app it says could open up quarantine-free travel internationally.
The International Air Transport Association s Travel Pass allows users to check out COVID rules in each country, find testing and vaccination sites, and store personal vaccine information.
Southwest and other U.S. airlines already have rejected calls for a so-called vaccine passport.
“I think airlines are very mindful that there is going to be a large percentage of the traveling population who is either not willing to put this information on an app, or maybe who is not willing to get the vaccine,” says attorney and retired airline pilot Josh Verde.
