The U.S. Navy said Iranian vessels harassed its Coast Guard ships in the Persian Gulf earlier this month.
On April 2, an Iran s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGCN) Harth 55, accompanied by three fast attack craft (FAC)/fast inshore attack craft (FIAC), approached U.S. Coast Guard patrol boats USCGC Wrangell (WPB 1332) and USCGC Monomoy (WPB 1326) while the U.S. vessels were conducting routine maritime security patrols in the international waters of the southern Arabian Gulf, the service said in a statement.

Fast inshore attack craft (FIAC) were used to approach the USS Firebolt and U.S. Coast Guard patrol boat USCGC Baranoff, at what Naval officials called an unnecessarily close range with unknown intent.
After warnings by the U.S. vessels through radio and loud-hailer devices went ignored by the Iranian patrol boats, the USS Firebolt warning shots – prompting the vessels to retreat.

April 27 (UPI) Four ships from Iran s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy approached U.S. Coast Guard patrol boats in the southern Arabian Gulf earlier this month in what the Navy has characterized as an unsafe and unprofessional interaction.
The USCGC Wrangel and the USCGC Monomoy were conducting routine maritime security patrols in the international waters of the gulf April 2 when Iran s Harth 55 repeatedly crossed the bows of the U.S. vessels at an unnecessarily close rang, the Navy said Tuesday in a press release.
