Lex Greensill avoids UK appearance but pressed for answers Save Share Greensill Capital founder Lex Greensill is under pressure ahead of British parliamentary hearings this week to provide details of his firm’s supply chain finance contracts with Sanjeev Gupta’s GFG Alliance and explain how it used algorithms to set up future receivables programs. Mr Greensill was asked to appear in person at hearings being held by the government’s business, energy and industrial strategy committee, which is examining GFG’s Alliance’s Liberty Steel operations. He declined to attend, claiming that the terms of the inquiry’s reference overlapped with an investigation by the UK’s Serious Fraud Office (SFO) into GFG Alliance’s finances and its relationship with Greensill Capital.
