After going without a competitive fight for over 20 months due to the pandemic, China s reigning world featherweight champion Xu Can has confirmed his long-awaited return on Aug 1, when he squares off against British challenger Leigh Wood in London.

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque on Monday, July 5, described as “watusi,” a type of firecracker in the Philippines, the corruption allegations made by Senator Manny Pacquiao, who called on the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee to investigate at least four government agencies.

“Akala ko atom bomb, ‘yun pala watusi. Wala po. Walang kwenta. Kasi puro generalized allegations po. Walang bill of particulars. Walang specific instance. Walang ebidensya (I thought it’s an atom bomb, it’s just watusi. Nothing. It’s nothing. Because these are generalized allegations. No bill of particulars. No specific instance. No evidence),” the Palace official said.
International Boxing Federation (IBF) Intercontinental Welterweight champion, Nigeria’s Rilwan “Baby Face” Babatunde, is scheduled to take on Ukraine’s Dymtro Mytrovanov for the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Oriental Middleweight title.
The fight, scheduled for 17 July at Eguides Club, Kiev, the Ukrainian capital city, is the Nigerian’s first fight outside the country’s shores and will underline his rising profile since his discovery at the inaugural edition of GOtv Boxing NextGen Search.
Baby Face has enjoyed a meteoric rise in his professional career during which he has remained undefeated against local and international opponents.
He has won the national, West African Boxing Union and IBF Intercontinental welterweight titles since bursting on the scene.
