LSRC waives national federations’ subscriptions Leemisa Thuseho THE Lesotho Sport and Recreation Commission (LSRC) has waived national federations’ annual membership fees for the 2020/21 and 2021/2022 financial years. The decision was made during the commission’s sitting of 4 March 2021 while the circular to the national federations was released on 5 March. “In its sitting of the 4 March, the commission resolved to waive all membership fees for 2020/21 financial year,” reads part of the circular. “All national sports associations who have already paid membership fees for 2020/21 will have the credit carried to the 2021/22 financial year.” The LSRC also reminded all federations that have not yet paid their subscriptions for the 2019/20 financial year to immediately settle their dues.

South Africa will host Uganda and Namibia in Cape Town from 25 to 31 March 2021. Lephole, who is Lesotho’s most qualified umpire, confirmed his engagement to the Sunday Express and revealed that he will be working alongside three umpires from South Africa; Anson Kemp, Elizna Van den Berg and Theresa Prince. He said he felt honoured by the invitation, which he described as an indication of the trust that the international netball community has in him. He said he was also happy to officiate in a tournament with top-ranked teams like South Africa and Uganda.

In the closing seconds of a tight game between National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) and Shih Hsin University (SHU) on Saturday (Feb. 27), African-Taiwanese player Mohammad Al Bachir Gadiaga (阿巴西) from the SHU squad fouled a player from NTNU to stop the clock and gain another possession. Out of anger at the infraction, NTNU player Lin Shih-hsuan (林仕軒) allegedly hurled a racial slur at Al Bachir.
